watch this video and the follow ups he does, i tested it through google finance because they have a lot of the same tools as what the guy is using which is telechart, so far it works well, though i had to rely on macd instead of the two moving averages because google doesn't give you the exponential moving average nor custom equations but google's macd gives you short period, long period and an ema which works

I just saw a pretty good video about MACD on youtube. There was lots more out there on various subjects.
